Maggie Murphy (BMus Hons.) has PVG Scheme Membership for working with children and vulnerable adults.
My own musical journey has been truly diverse. Having played the piano since the age of 4, I achieved ABRSM Grade 8 for both the piano and viola while still at school. Over the years, I have won some awards for my classical playing (the Norma Dalziel Trophy), played in various orchestras and chamber ensembles on the viola, as well as being the pianist/keyboardist in various jazz bands and indie bands.
I went on to study Music Technology at the University fo Edinburgh in 2010. and graduated with a First Class Honours, Since then I have worked with organisations such as Skoogmusic and Drake Music Scotland to lead on a variety of community music projects - spreading the joy of music making to learners of all abilities.
I have now been a piano teacher for 14 years! I have had the pleasure to work with many children, young people and adults - with and without additional support needs. I have spent over a decade working in the youth sector as my day job; children's rights and youth participation are both very dear to my heart.
